1. Drug-Facilitated Assault: Drugs Used to Commit Assaults

Drug-facilitated assault refers to instances where an individual is unknowingly drugged to facilitate a crime, most commonly sexual assault or rape. The substances typically employed include:

-GHB, also known as the “rape drug”.

-Ketamine, initially a veterinary and medical anesthetic.

Their rapid and potent effect often leads to loss of consciousness, partial or total amnesia, and a state of mental confusion, rendering the victim unable to defend themselves or recall the events. This context of vulnerability is sometimes exploited to commit assaults, particularly sexual ones. The risks are significantly heightened with simultaneous consumption of alcohol or other drugs, which can amplify the depressant effects on the nervous system.

The use of these substances outside a strict medical framework is illegal: their administration without a person's knowledge constitutes a criminal act severely punishable by law, carrying heavy prison sentences, particularly when associated with violence or sexual assault.

In 2023, over 1,200 reports related to assaults facilitated by psychoactive substances were recorded, representing an increase of nearly 70% in two years.

Among these cases, approximately 100 were confirmed as probable drug-facilitated assaults. Victims are predominantly young women, with a median age of around 24.

Approximately 35% of incidents occur in festive venues such as bars or festivals, while in nearly 40% of cases, the assailant is known to the victim.

These figures remain underestimated, as many situations are never reported.

Yes, the test was designed to be simple, rapid, and discreet. It can be used in a bar, nightclub, or party setting without attracting attention.

Its card format allows it to be discreetly slipped into a pocket or bag. It enables testing a beverage with a single gesture, by simply placing a drop on the integrated pad. This innovative format facilitates active and individual prevention, without arousing suspicion in a festive setting.

If the pellet turns blue:
