Toda XPER® Diag
Saliva collection device for laboratory counter-expertise
The Toda XPER® Diag is a device designed for the collection, storage, and transport of saliva for drug testing in a laboratory.
It functions as a complement to the Toda Drugdiag® Saliva range of tests.
Simple and rapid saliva counter-expertise
The Benefits of Toda XPER® Diag.
SIMPLIFIED TRANSPORT
Non-refrigerated
sample transport.
SALIVA REUTILIZATION
Reutilization of the same saliva sample, which limits the risk of falsification.
SIMPLICITY
Simplifies your drug
counter-expertise procedure.
TRACEABILITY
Each sample is labeled, ensuring its traceability.
Recovery rate
Below, the table presents the recovery rate for various substances.
This indicator allows for the evaluation of the device's capacity to recover drug metabolites present in the saliva sample and to efficiently transfer them into the preservation buffer.
A high recovery rate signifies that the majority of substances present in the sample are correctly collected and preserved, thereby contributing to the reliability of subsequent analyses.

1. Why is it important to screen for drug use
Drug screening via a urine test enables rapid detection of psychoactive substances in the body, even when their effects are no longer apparent. This is an essential tool for protecting individual health, preventing risky behaviors (e.g., driving under influence, working in sensitive environments), and supporting individuals in distress. Within a medical or professional context, screening aids in establishing an accurate diagnosis and guiding appropriate care. A hierarchical superior may administer a urine test, provided it is justified by the employee's job functions.
It can be:
- Mandatory after a road accident
- Authorized during roadside checks
- Legally permissible in companies, for sensitive, high-risk positions (decree of December 13, 2016, confirmed by the Council of State on December 5, 2016)
2. In what situations should Toda XPER® Diag be used?
The Toda XPER® Diag device is primarily designed for use when there is uncertainty regarding an initial screening result, or when it is necessary to confirm a positive result.
It enables the collection of a reliable and secure saliva sample intended for in-depth laboratory analysis.
This confirmatory testing step is essential to prevent diagnostic errors, minimize disputes, and ensure the validity of results, particularly in professional, legal, or medical settings.
In cases of suspected sample falsification or alteration, this device offers a robust solution that safeguards sample integrity.
3. Toda XPER® Saliva vs. Toda XPER® Diag: Two Second-Opinion Solutions, Two Approaches
Toda XPER® Diag and Toda XPER® Saliva are two solutions designed for second-opinion testing in cases of positive or disputed test results, but they operate differently.
With Toda XPER® Diag, the swab used in the saliva test is removed with tweezers and placed in a dedicated transport tube. This method eliminates the need to repeat the sample collection and reduces the risk of tampering, particularly in cases where individuals attempt to skew the second test by ingesting substances after the initial screening.
At the same time, the Toda XPER® Saliva kit offers a different approach: it is a comprehensive sample collection kit designed specifically for laboratory re-testing. It includes a sterile swab and a secure tube, allowing for a new sample to be collected under optimal conditions of traceability and integrity. These two solutions thus meet a variety of needs, depending on whether you wish to reuse an existing sample or collect a new, secure sample.
4. What is the Storage Duration for Saliva Samples?
Sample stability and preservation are crucial factors for ensuring the reliability of laboratory analyses.
With the Toda Xper® Diag device, the collected saliva benefits from specially designed packaging to preserve the integrity of detectable substances for an extended period.
Thanks to a hermetic system and suitable materials, samples can be stored at ambient temperature for several days without significant alteration of the analyzed components.
This facilitates the transport and storage of samples, particularly when analyses must be performed in a remote laboratory.
This optimal storage duration thus ensures that the confirmatory testing results accurately reflect the initial sample's reality, even after a delay between collection and analysis.
